Hello Customer Care...Anyone On the Call?? ...!!

Beautiful thing about learning is that nobody shall take from You - Oprah

Lolzzz …People its been 14 big months in this big corporate world of wipro. And once when you go down the memory lane it feels nostalgic and still the day when i was weeping like a kid when I stepped into this hitech world. All I wanted, at that point is to go back and start my job as a teacher at a local college.but I would have regretted if would have done that..Chalo people, even 2day for most of the educated folks an MBA grad joining a Bpo is awww!!! But I guess god has lost his geometry box while designing my carrier and I guess it was a clever move as he wanted me to learn..!!

People there are only a few truths in the stories that we read about this Bpo world because they are painted in such a way and presented that at the EOD it bounds us to believe that bpo doesn’t teach any thing and its all and all a ruin of carrier.but I can,say that it teaches us the nonsense’s of the corporate world for the tier two city folks because they come from small city n Bpo’z like a dream ticket for them into the tinsel town of corporate because the transition that he can get through the Bpo industry can sure they cannot achieve in any other industry and when time comes for them to assume another role in a different position am sure they shall bang that..

Yeah People sometimes its too hard not to feel exhausted and when u doing the job of calling its hard because you area videshi and not a desi..the kind of pressure disconnecting the calls while you are sleeping in the mornings. the kind of pressure in the office ,the 7:30 pm pressure(this is when the survey files come in);Supervisor shouting to respond to messenger;doing cab registrations;;damm praying that customer should be a closed case ..making customer false promises with ultimate aim that of grabbing customers credit card number…at the end making sales…so much pressure that waiting for a weekend part but sleeping all tym..lol…J

But you also have a lot of happiness and fun talking to people and some very good people..still remember a funny situation where I had a customer Susan, and sold her a warranty and she had an American Express and after giving the Credit card number I asked mam can I have the CVN 3 DIGIT no plz and she says amex has a 4 digit and she was laughing after the sale and said that dude Amex holders are the A-CLASS people in the states so watch out for them and put them all costly things they shall never say no..hehe

Wipro has given me a lot of opportunities to dine with a lot of people and also made friends ofa life tym…different religions;kindz of mindset’s and most importantly the importance of relationships its only when u are away from some one u get to know their importance (Family …yaar nothings else am a bhola person here…lol..)The importance of hard work is also one important thing I learnt here because one day u find all people praising you because of ur work and when u put down a lil bit of hard work and the next day u find people gossiping on u and saying you good for nothing so only thing I say is hard working and making smart moves work out here in this world..shall take u far..

Things that I can carry forward for my future shall be as a student of human psychology its important for me to learn different kinds of people and I am learning this by talking to different people round the world every day so no regrets and no complain. Lastly very soon it shall be the time in my lyf again where I shall assume another role and move out of one stage and get into another that’s my dream job “Hr”.Hopeing of getting into wipro’s Hr Dpt and I know I have to play the game of patience with god till than..:)

Ending my Pages with Steve Jobs words that “Every experience in life is like a star and it shall have its connection at some part of life..!! and his childhood lessons made him discover Mac O/s and hope that my Bpo stars fetch me good yummy fruits in future..:)
Experience is the Real Bench Mark..

MY LESSONS AT CORPORATE WORLD !!!

Here Peopl back again with the same ethusiasum and back again to you people to pen down a few more experiences of my lyf...

Yes; i was busy with my job !Firstly have to thank god and all u peopl 4rm the bottom of my heart for your wishes and its all your encouragement and your wishes that i landed up in Wipro today.Peopl though its a Bpo i sincerly have no issues working dere..!! as i am learning the basic nauncences of the corporate world..:)

Just was hearing Mrs.Sudha Murthy (Life lessons) and its a gud video motivational and also inspirational.Mrs.Murthy might be 60 years by now and she speaks abt philanthrophy and also spoke about the lessons she learnt from life and she says that every one learns from life and i strongly agree to the statement and this posting of mine is in regards of what life has thought to me in my 8 months of stint at the corporate world.

When was doing my masters always had a gloomy picture of my future about what would be my future i used to be a day dreamer; always dreaming about my future. than at last i was done with MBA and finally the day zero where we got placed in MNC'S as was recession we did not complain in the lot of companies there were many which came up were Bpo and i can say tat i was d lucky chap or the scape goat got selected in almost all the bpo's that came ovr dere. but my cup of tea was not bpo was trying for another Hr job through my connections but none of them were fruitfull and finally destiny wanted me to come into bpo and here is were i learnt my 1ST Lesson tat as said by sri krishna as well do your work and leave the rest to karma i have done my part of work and rest was destiny me joining wipro.

My second lesson tat i learnt in my journey is "HARD WORK & SMART WORK" dere are many live experiences in my own company were u can see hard working peopl coming out with flying colors at the end of the day. You say luck is an important factor for success yes it is but caters only 5% overall rest of the 95% goes to the quality of hard work that you put into and also a lil bit of smart work to add up the spice and over all you see your receipe as a 5 star rated.lik a small example i wanna add is tat v hav to make a sale with every call we take. i know the hard work tat i put in (be it truly a lie abt d product but tat is a hard work & bit of smart work) i put up at the end for survival .so frankly learnt hard work to the core which never ever had put up in my academics.

My third lesson tat i learnt is tO "THINK ABOUT YOURSELF FIRST" yes subhakar sir used to tell us abt dis but never ever in my masters thought about myself i always thought about my friends first but being with the same attitude at the corporate world is a big crime.there are always people who will be your friends care for you;feed you take gud care of you but from the back door gossip abt u betray u and after the cause is done back stab you. Peopl dis is corporate world and really learnt to think abt myself first and than rest of the world..Freak wht a change ailaaaaaaaa

At tyms really feel frustrated and lonely with dese tensions back home as well as not meeting up my targets so at tat tym really think abt quiting and going back to my town & start a teacher job tat shall fetch me hand some money but yes it was the dream of my parents & me to see my self as a well setteled HR and also have challenged my bro tat i shall be in the recruiting panel & shall interview u in d next 5 yrs..really experiencing a roller coaster ride every day..dese lessons are merely basics of lyf but yes experienced in a different juncture so thought to post tat..& yes 4 me dese r new..Newaz peopl tak care of urself its 2 am in the morning so Good Bye 4 Now!!!!

Peopl in life come & go…
Leaveing treasure able memories…
But still some who engrave themselves…
In such a way in our life’s…
That it is hard to eradicate them…

MBA is done in a whisker.Today i am free to jolt down a few lines about my faculty at RIMS.& lets start with Mr.G.SUBHAKAR.initially when i joined dere i was a bit happy to find him at RIMS bcoz he was very gud at hindi & at tat tym of my joining my telugu was a disaster.I still remember the very first day when he called me & introduced me 2 the class. i was very much pleased by the gesture.& since then from the day 1 we share a very gud rapo.

Peopl many of my mates had an issue tat sir teaches in a very high accent and so on..but i always made them cut short their words & said just ”GROW ON” he makes us taste the reality of the world & yaar he gets anger at tyms but even gets calm like an innocent baby.Doesnt have any grudges with any one.

I would like to talk about some tasks, which we had done under his guideance & shall clealy substantiate my tag for him tat is perfection…The first was the survey which we had done under him. He had really put hard efforts made us into groups, supervised us, advised us and the final show which was put by our team was applauded in all & all.he was the 1st person 2 applaud us.
The second was our fest CAUCUS.peopl i know i am gud at preprations, but to manage a mega project always we need a mentor & wht better can we ask god than Mr.Perfectionist he was our team chief he gave me & my team our space & here is the out come we got a thumping applause in the city all credit goes to sir’s ncouargement & most importantly his belief in giving space to the students & exploring their talents.&YES,how can i 4get some friends told tat i hav done nothing for the event but it was sir as he knew abt my efforts & yes, i have learnt many life lessons from him.

The final was our project phase. i was the talk of the tinsel town . it was like ”Stroking nails into the Coffin”but i still remember when i called him he really encouraged me and asked me to move on no matters wht happens..& dis is was the need of the hour..i call him perfectionist bcoz peopl, really learnt the art of delievering 100% from him, his presentations, lectures always 100% & really knowlegable bcoz tat showed his hardwork tat he did for us & yes as i want to say again learnt life lessons.

Finally i wrap up dis and hope peopl now u can understand why i hav written dose lines above. really tat encouragement made acheive dis stature today & i can always say tat ”A PEICE OF ME WILL ALWAYS BE AT RIMS FOREVER” . sir really thank u from the bottom of my heart for ur encouragement and ur advices no matter were i reach 2morow but always want ur advices at every walk.lastly peopl he is the top class faculty in marketing in whole of the city.and very soon he shall start his new project all my best wishes to u in all ur future endavours…..
I just have two cliched words for you ”THANK YOU”

Keep Rockin…..

Very Soon many other posts…bcoz it break tym…hehehe…)Perfection Personified…..

INTERVIEW QUESTION AT THE JOB PORTAL....

MY INTERVIEW QUESTION…:)By gurujothkohli

Peopl here i am back with dis new post but haaaa transformed with a nnotion tat i want 2 make a mark in d CORPORATE WORLD…:)

____________________________________________________________________

So as part of tat i was asked a question in one of d job portals reagarding my qualities tat at what i am d best so aspart of tat here i am sharing this answer of mine..:)
here goes my question & my answer follows peopl..:)

What do you believe you are best at ? And why ?

All through out my Student life in my Masters education, I have developed in several skills and this is my MBA qualification, which transformed me into this phrase that “Always be a Leader and Not a Follower” i.e., I have, inculcated the leadership skills and the art of maintaining healthy “Human Relations” . And with these two skills, I can say that I can, have a separate identity amongst the crowd and this shall serve as a USP for me in long run while working for an organization.

Wearing a leader’s cap is easy, but also maintaining the human relations is equally important for today’s “YOUTUBE” generation. And I am confident enough that I manage both of them quite efficiently. The recent example is my college annual fest, where I was to lead the events and the stage maintenance team. The latter was on to be managed on the D-day. But the sole of the fest was the events (competitions).

As the leader of the events team. I, by the hierarchy was given 5 more members and together I, had to lead the team. firstly incorporated all the management principles; firstly I organized a “Brain Strom” motivating session that we can give our best and motivated my members to work harder and inculcated the team spirit and asked them to deliver their best shot in deciding the events. Nextly, gave individual portfolios to all of them i.e., one to decide events, other the names, designs and so on.

I only on each day maintained my part of human relations, i.e., negotiating with them and churning out the events and reporting to my hierarchy .and lastly I think when there is a dedicated team and a responsible “LEADER” the department will be organized. Our events were the best among many other fests organized in the city. My main motto for the fest was of
“One Vision…One Mission, Together, to dawn a New Horizon…
Was perfect for our fest and it also matched with the tagline I gave for the fest i.e., “Transcending Horizons:” which was applauded all over and was a banging hit.

My other key skill which I would like to mention is maintaining “Human Relations” these were to appreciated at the fest. because I was also to head the stage maintenance team on the D-day.my skill of maintaining human relations right through out my academic carrier as a student proved fruitful to me and I nourished this skill to a greater extent in my masters education. Because I think the first pre requisite for an MBA Graduate is maintain human relations and I am competent enough in those skills.

As the leader for the “STAGE MAINTAINENCE” team I was provided 5 students (different from the events team) and for the leader for the stage maintenance I think the basics are time management, human relations( co-ordination among members)..i before 2 days of the fest put up a “rehearsal” for my team and my HR Skills helped me a lot as my team members followed me and all was done perfect as well on the D-day. Yes, There was excusive pressure on me and my team because we had to run the whole show, we had to balance our faculty on one side and on other side had to see that everything goes perfect on the stage. But we managed the whole show well and we co-ordinate correctly with the participants here was where the human relations maintaining I incorporated in my team was worthful.

The timing, the events co-ordination between me and my team, the competent leadership and my HR Skills were all was appreciated by the participants of various institutes in the feedback session. And back home at my college to I was awarded with a shield for my performance in leading the team.

Therefore, I duly believe that our slogan I gave for the event i.e., “Together, We Can…” and this could be possible because I had the required Leadership and Human relations skills and I think I am competent enough in these skills and these shall me fruitful for me in my future endeavors as well…..

TRANSFORMATION AT RIMS

TRANSFORMATION AT RIMS

Carrying my educational certificates I stepped out the house at 6:30 am in the morning all anxious to reach Kakinada. My 1 hour journey was memorable as the rajahmundry-kakinada road way is through lush green fields and the crop waiting to be harvested. Looking at the climate as it was spring season but still the rainy season has not signaled red.

So, arrived the 7th September 2008, the day I was dreaming since my final years of graduation. This was the day where I as a graduate would go through tremendous training and turn into a future corporate tycoon. The dream which I cherished since my childhood days. Can’t say what exactly I was feeling being stepped into an entire new environment I was shivering and a bit too nervous because I was living the dream of every graduate who want’s to pursue MBA but only few are fortunate to realize it.

The fresh air of the millennium city and also the district headquarters had forced me to reassure and calm down myself. Initially as I entered the college the campus impressed me. After all it was one of the firstly established institutes in the city and carries a lot of reputation. I just heard from other sources that I would be a training camp where we shall be transformed for two years and finally made a ready product for the industry. But a lot of strict rules at conditions apply for us

It took me 15 minutes to enquire me about my class and by the time I reached it was already 9:00am and the college hours had started.. I entered the class and met my mates all my batch mates were formally dressed. Our first orientation was from our faculty members where our lecturer MR.SUBHAKAR had given us a presentation on etiquettes to be followed by professionals. The next followed business quiz by another faculty member Mr.Appa Rao where we came to know that tag lines of a product also carry equal significance as the product is. The last session of the day was delt by our H.O.D Mr. Sanjay Kumar this was an orientation session where I interacted with my, mates and sir also gave a storming session on the future boom for MBA i.e., we the future managers.

It was already 12:00 pm and I was leaving for rjy with my mate but it was the time for senior sessions!! The seniors enquired us about our sd and after all enquires they welcomed us into the college. We were informed that from 10 onwards our course curriculum would get started.

Classes started as mentioned . In the mid of september we came to know that we had to organize a management meet as it was a tradition of the college to organize it… all the juniors, seniors and the management worked hard and had set the stage where 1000 MBA’S from different colleges participated this was a memorable and learning experience for us as we were juniors than..
The next most memorable experience for me was the SOCIAL RESPONSIBILTY seminar which I had to deliver and the judge was our experienced principal sir this was a 1.5 hr seminar at this point I came to know that I was good at oratical skills.. and activities continued in the first sem and after clearing the first sem exams I did not know what was in store for us in the second sem as we returned to college after sem holidays. the department had come up with unique concept now they divided us into teams headed by team leaders elected by the class mates at this point they wanted us to tasted organizational culture.

And much to the surprise I was the first leader elected with 75% of the votes and all the teams conducted different activities like add making, role play, rims durbar etc. and gained a lot of experience as these events were judged by the faculty members and also experienced personals from the industry. here in the second sem we came more closer to the faculty members and they were and always be a driving force for all we budding managers to develop into a first class managers. As they brought into more events and brought into a survey that’s a “retail survey” to be organized we all teams worked hard for 3 days to know the pulse of kakinadaites.. And the analysis was done by our principal sir and the survey gave us an opportunity to maintain good rapo with our seniors as they were our team leaders the survey had brought down curtains for the second semester.

After a prolonged 2 month S.I.P. at O.N.G.C,. I attended the college in July and innovation is the key word we can give to the department of management they came with a new concept this time is ICUBE that had been launched recently i.e., industry-institution-interface. where experts from different walks of life and also other walks of life give their valuable speeches to we the wanna be managers.

This program had helped me and my mates a lot to get an extreme makeover in the sense of attitude, dressing sense, knowledge. Because all the managers defined that a manager must be able to sell himself to the recruiter and if he sells himself he can sell anything in the world. Coming to enjoyment I had my spoonful as I was the only one who bunked most of the classes chilled out in the canteen but any how managed to have a good name in the college I am being called the MOTIVATOR OF THE CLASS OR SINGH IS ALWAYS THE KING because I take initiation in every aspect from an activity or about class development aspects.

Finally I conclude that I was a graduate and this was my walk of experience with which I am transforming into future corporate tycoon with all qualities imparted by the institute and with my motto that “ALWAYS AIM AT THE STARS AND ATLEAST WE MAY LAND AT THE MOON” and I can proudly say that rims is the ultimate stop for the future I call them “HOLISTIC” managers which the industry wants in current scenario!

And the journey continues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Politely,

GURUJOTH SINGH KOHLI

MY FINAL AIDEU......)

MY FINAL AIDEU  
People this might be my last post as a student of Management!! but nonetheless, life must go on…
__________________________________________________________________
Peopl!!!! Life has come to a stand still ever since i came to know that these 10 days would be my last days as a student .Yaar there is a saying that “Every thing which starts has to come to an end” & so, my station has arrived and I have to get down and start exploring my future…People usually in the month of March you can see huge sunny days.

The heat will be at its peak in the month of march here down south, and usually we take up holidays in this month but even the mother nature is kind to us and doesn’t want the 2007-09 batch of RIMS, leave without enjoying each moment, where we usually see the sun there we can see clouds all over, giving us a reason to enjoy and have a blast in the last leg of our college life.My two year stint at RIMS, doing my Masters was a huge bang-bang affair. It was a “Luck by chance” kind of affair that me joining RIMS, because at that point.

I was about to settle in a job, but who can oppose luck and so, I settled down at RIMS, for my master’s.People right from the 1st semester or can I say 1st semester, I was a calm student I just came to college attended the classes sitting in the last bench and moving back to home. At that very point of time I decided to quit my master’s bcoz travelling so far all the way 150 kms a day was a stressful job and so I’ves decided to settle in another college, but my destiny wanted me to complete my 2 year stint at RIMS.

Tables, for me turned my favour when I was in the 2nd semester. Here, I was elected as a Team leader and me and my team was always in news well any guesses!!!! That’s because we always lost every competition but have to say people me & my teams efforts were appreciated when we put up” RIMS MANAGERIAL CONGRESS – 08” an awesome format which is remembered till date to all our class mates.

As of now I am a senior and have to say people that life came into a way of Transformation as people we all became seniors & haa yaar all our noses were high because there were juniors & we were a year superior to them. My senior hood was of more surprises and more enjoyable one than the previous year.Well I can say surprises because people, I always consider my self as God’s favorite child. This is because I have faced infinite number of challenges sever since my birth. Even though I have sailed my boat with confidence and today I stand before you with the same confidence. This year as always brought in the Global Melt down in my life.

This year shall be the deciding year for me because, have to settle in a comfortable job with a good package, but as life for me without challenges is like rose flowers without thorns. God has sent in global melt down packed in a box with good shining cover called Tensions….All through out my 3rd semester worked really hard .Pumped in the extra confidence and inculcated in new skills in myself with the suggestions of my faculty all credit goes to them because they were the people who suggested me for my improvements. And, now a few lines, about my last leg the 4th semester the annual big bash our management fest.

People we all were in dilemma up to post pongal fest but this was the motivation of our department that today we have done it and our RIMS family have turned the people’s head’s towards themselves and gained a particular stature in the city of Kakinada. We have created a history people for sure.People I had to move down to Hyderabad to take an exam on 7th the last day of our fest but have to confess that I missed my exam because was too much emotionally attached with the fest that I could not pack my bags for Hyderabad. Really yaar all those 3 days were really treasure able one all through out my life and all credit goes to RIMS family.

Finally I end this article with only 1 hope that all my friends at RIMS, and the RIMS, family and this includes my juniors that they make big in life and RIMS family attains great statures in all its future endeavors.RIMS family you were & shall be the guiding light in all my future endeavors.
JAI HOO!!!!!!!!!!!! RIMS FAMILY U ROCK……WE ARE TOGETHER, ALWAYSCheers!!!!!!!!!!!!Love
